about us
The aim of pogo design is simple: to help you produce fantastic, successful, products that delight the end user and help you to grow your business.
Pogo design’s founder, Jamie Widdows, has over 20 years of industry experience, helping to design and develop many commercially successful products across a broad range of industries. He has played a key role in the creation and implementation of product brand identities for companies worldwide, and has a passion for working with clients to solve problems and create successful products.
From the initial idea to the manufactured product, Pogo design provides guidance and support throughout the entire design process. We’ll work closely with you to understand what is required, and which elements are most important to your company and the end user. Why not get in touch to discuss your project today?
our services
Leave it to us to bring your ideas to life. Pogo design provides clients with a comprehensive range of design services that help turn ideas into reality.
research
If the design process is to be successful, thorough research and a clear understanding of the problems, constraints, and requirements is essential before the creative process can begin. Pogo design’s requirement capture process can help to produce a clear and well-defined design brief and product specification. We work closely with our clients to ensure as much information about the product as possible is known prior to the concept generation phase.
concept design
Where the creativity truly begins: the exploration of ideas based around the design brief, product specification, and research. Our process will produce ideas that answer the brief in a range of ways, exploring the visual form and mechanical aspects of the product whilst being mindful of the use of materials and suitable manufacturing processes. We will present the ideas to you for discussion, allowing you to select the design concepts most suitable for further development.
product development
Here a selected concept is developed, prototyped, tested, and refined to produce a design that not only adheres to the brief but is also manufacturable. Where required, we will work alongside mechanical, electronic and software engineers to help develop the complete product package.
design for manufacture (DFM)
The design for manufacture process is carried out alongside product development, ensuring that the product being developed is suitable for manufacture. Pogo design has extensive manufacturing knowledge and links to a range of manufacturing processes within the UK and Far East.
packaging
Packaging can play an important role in the success of the product. Whether its main role is to protect the product during shipping, to advertise your brand, or to help sell the product 'off the shelf' in a retail environment, pogo design can help design packaging suited to its task, whilst carefully considering the use of materials, method of production, and its environmental footprint.
visualisation
Whether it is sketches to describe ideas, photo realistic renderings for presentations, photomontage images for marketing, or illustrations for user guides, pogo design has the skills to realise your vision.
branding
Your brand is important; it defines who you are as a company. A strong brand identity helps to make your products recognisable and reinforce your brand values. Pogo design excels in creating visual brand identities for product ranges. Colour, form, materials and surface finish, together with how the user interacts with the product(s), all help to form a unique brand identity in a competitive marketplace. From the simple use of labels, printing, and colour changes on existing or OEM products, to the complete design of a product or range of products, pogo design can make your brand stand out from the crowd.
user interaction
How the end user relates and interacts with a product is a vital part in its success. At pogo design our user interaction process encompasses a range of skills including human factors, ergonomics, and user experience design to create products that are user-friendly and functional in use.
